It was a jam-packed night at Sugar Factory American Brasserie inside Paris Las Vegas on Saturday. Playboy Playmate and reality television siren, Jayde Nicole, celebrated her birthday, music sensation and actress Samantha Mumba held her engagement party and rock legend, Slash, picked up some sweet treats.

Jayde Nicole, who was frequently featured on E!’s “Holly’s World” and MTV’s “The Hills,” looked flawless in a white, feathered ABS cocktail dress and rhinestone-studded Steve Madden wedges as she munched on a grilled steak and arugula salad with a table of her five best friends. Getting the party started early, the birthday girl ordered some of the eatery’s signature cocktails such as a Passion Punch goblet, Almond Joy martini and a Jolly Rancher martini for her friends to try.

After dinner the raven-haired beauty, who was showing off new red highlights in her dark locks, took to the retail store to shop for some sugary snacks that she could bring to her birthday party. Nicole stocked up on Sour Patch Kids, gummy sharks and green apple rings. The beauty also picked out a few T-shirts, her favorite being the “I Love Candy & Diamonds” V-neck. Always up for fun, the starlet also got behind the cafe’s gelato counter to scoop out a little dessert for her friends.

Sugar Factory American Brasserie is an American take on traditional French brasserie, serving delicious cuisine all day, and all night, along with an over-sized retail store and signature Chocolate Lounge and Wine Bar. Other Sugar Factory retail stores are located at The Mirage and Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

XS Nightclub, the sophisticated nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, celebrated its third anniversary with a special set by electronic dance music’s breakout star of the year, Skrillex, on Monday, February 6th.

Celine Dion Hosts Grand Opening of Octavius Tower at Caesars Palace with Lunar New Year Celebration

In celebration of Lunar New Year, Caesars Palace headliner Celine Dion hosted the grand opening ceremony for the new Octavius Tower at Caesars Palace, officially ringing in the Year of the Dragon. During the private ceremony this evening, Dion participated in the customary lion dance, bringing good fortune to the resort’s sixth hotel tower and wishing happiness and prosperity for the New Year.

“I am pleased to celebrate the opening of the luxurious Octavius Tower at Caesars Palace and am very honored to welcome the Year of the Dragon,” said Dion. “As this is a very special time when millions of people around the world are celebrating the Lunar New Year, I would like to send my very best wishes to all for a healthy and happy New Year.”

The grand opening celebration kicked off with a traditional lion dance parade as Dion painted the eyes of the emblematic lion to awaken it, presenting it with a red envelope, a customary gift to symbolize prosperity. Accompanied by beating drums, synchronized lion dancers paraded throughout the tower to ward off evil spirits, welcoming a new year of wealth and prosperity.

“At Caesars Palace we are privileged to welcome guests from around the world and it is with great pleasure that we continue our longstanding Chinese New Year celebrations – a custom which began in 1975,” announced Caesars Palace Regional President Gary Selesner. “As we proudly commemorate the Lunar New Year, we are excited to welcome our very own Celine Dion as she hosts the official grand opening of our brand new Octavius Tower. Caesars Palace opened its sixth hotel tower, Octavius Tower, on Jan. 2, bringing the resort’s total inventory up to 3,960 rooms and suites. The 668-room hotel tower offers guests a luxurious boutique hotel experience within the larger destination resort with a private valet entrance, separate hotel lobby and innovative in-room technology package.

Las Vegas Restaurants Prosper in Year of the Dragon

As today, January 23, marks the start of the Chinese New Year, a celebration of prosperity and good fortune, many tourists will head to Las Vegas to try their luck, and they can also be delighted by authentic Chinese cuisine created exclusively in honor of the holiday by several restaurants on The Strip.

With prix-fixe menus and special dishes paying homage to The Year of the Dragon, the Chinese lucky number eight and authentic Cantonese dim sum, restaurants at ARIA Resort & Casino, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo and Luxor are all joining the festivities.

ARIA Resort & Casino

The high-end, whimsically decorated Blossom is serving up a Cantonese Dim Sum menu featuring Steamed Chopped Spare Ribs, an extensive list of dumplings and more. Also at MGM Grand, Pearl will offer a traditional Chinese menu in addition to a Dim Sum lunch from Friday, Jan. 20 – Monday, Jan. 30 while Shibuya also will offer special dishes from Friday, Jan. 20 – Friday, Jan. 27. Mandalay Bay
Both the Bayside Buffet and Noodle Shop will have special offerings in celebration of the Chinese New Year, such as Dim Sum assortments and Lotus Leaf Wrapped Chicken at the buffet, as well as Crispy Roasted Squab and Braised Sea Cucumber at the Noodle Shop. The Mirage
Cravings Buffet is upgrading its Wok Station in honor of the holiday, with an extensive offering of Chinese favorites, from Shrimp Egg Rolls to General Tso Chicken to Beef Lo Mein. Luxor – The newly opened Pan-Asian restaurant Rice & Co. is offering a prix-fixe menu for $65, featuring palate-pleasing dishes such as The Dragon Roll which is topped with avocado and caviar in celebration of The Year of the Dragon, from Monday, Jan. 23 – Thursday, Feb. 9.
