A First Look at Hyde Bellagio inside the Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas

sbe, an industry-leading hospitality, real estate development and lifestyle company, and Bellagio Resort & Casino, the world’s preeminent hospitality brand, have announced the expansion of the award-winning Hyde nightlife brand into the Las Vegas market.

Occupying the former Fontana Bar location and overlooking the iconic Fountains of Bellagio, Hyde Bellagio will mark the first-ever nightlife experience in Las Vegas from sbe. sbe Founder, Chairman and CEO Sam Nazarian will collaborate with Bellagio to deliver this spectacular 10,000 square foot, indoor/outdoor venue, set for a New Year’s Eve 2011 grand opening.

Since opening in 1998, the AAA Five Diamond Bellagio has established a new standard for inspired elegance and luxury hospitality. Hyde Bellagio will offer the resort’s only seamless indoor/outdoor nightlife venue, evoking the legendary nightclubs of St. Tropez such as La Cave and Billionaires Club.

Just as Bellagio has become the market leader and trendsetter in Las Vegas, Hyde has also experienced a similar rise to prominence in Southern California. Beginning with Hyde Lounge Hollywood, sbe has expanded the brand to include locations at Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, at Mammoth Mountain and Hyde Beach, coming to South Beach, Miami in 2012.

Hyde Bellagio will operate as an exclusive lounge until 11 PM and then dramatically transform into a nightlife experience. The renovations will expand the size of the terrace with gorgeous views overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio. Additionally, Hyde Bellagio will feature sbe’s award-winning mixology program.

New Smashburger Las Vegas Location next to UNLV

I was invited to check out the brand new Las Vegas Smashburger next to UNLV today. Since it was my first time to a Smashburger, I decided to invite my good friend Edgar Arana with me, because everyone needs verification as to what their eating is good or not, right? hahaha

As I arrived at the prominently situated on Maryland Pkwy Smashburger, I noticed that it didn’t look like the rest of the strip mall. Almost as if the restaurant space had to be torn down and rebuilt to accommodate the burger joint. *Side note, hopefully that’s a sign of the times on Maryland Pkway near UNLV, as there are MANY buildings that could use some sprucing up.* The UNLV Smashburger location looks great inside. There are plenty of seats, the room is bright, and the ceilings had an exposed look (exposed air vents and pipes) which I really like. There are also plenty of menus around, so if their is a line, you’ll know what you want to order as you make your way to the cashier.

The menu consists of choices for all food palates. Even though it’s called Smashburger, they have Smashdogs (hot dogs), Smashchicken (chicken sandwiches), Smashsalads (entrée sized), and of course Smashburgers. I decided to go with the Sin City Smashburger, which consists of a fried egg, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions, and their smash sauce, on an egg bun. And it was GOOOOOOD! I decided to pair my Sin City Smashburger with some Smashfries, which are tender and crispy fries, tossed with rosemary, olive oil, and garlic. And THEY were GOOOOOOD too. The folks at Smashburger were kind enough to pass around samples of their shakes as well. They had tradition shakes, vanilla and strawberry, along with my favorite of the day, the Butterfinger shake.

All in all, I give Smashburger a 4 out of 4 (service, location, food, and environment). Currently with four locations in Las Vegas, I see nothing but a promising future in the valley for Smashburger. Watch out In N’ Out.
